Course overview

When: The event will take place Tuesday 19th of July at 6pm UK, with the livestream starting at 6:30pm UK. 

Where: This event has been moved to Online Only. 

In this We Move Session, Holly will be drawing from her own experiences with Dyslexia working as a professional musician. She will be looking at how Dyslexia informs her work within songwriting, production and facilitation, as well as collating a few other perspectives from other Dyslexic musicians. A great session for anyone looking to develop artistically, grow in confidence or anyone interested in exploring identity in music.

The event will  be livestreamed on the Music Hackspace YouTube channel.

Manchester-based songwriter and producer IORA (real name Holly Phelps) makes futuristic blend of alt-pop with layers of electronica, field recording and punchy samples. Her EP “How did we get here?” (supported by the PRS Open Fund) was released in May as well as a UK headline tour. As well as receiving financial support from PRS, she’s also a Roundhouse Resident artist Alumni. She’s picked up support on BBC Radio 1 from Gemma Bradley and The Chillest Show with Sian Eleri as well as regular support from BBC Introducing. Holly has also sung in award winning short film 'Time Bascule', other work includes theatre, podcasts, radio, top lining and facilitation.
