Create a polyphonic synthesizer plug-in with RNBO

Membership plan: Free | Topics: Sound Design

Course overview

What to expect in this workshop?
Build your own polyphonic synthesis device in RNBO via Max.
Export it for use as a virtual instrument plug-in (VST/AU).

What synthesis technique will be used?
You will combine two oscillators to build a subtractive synthesiser. Made more interesting with an envelope generator and a lowpass filer.

How does it all work?
You will learn how to export a Max/RNBO patch to a VST/AudioUnit target. You will then be able to use your own plug-in inside any DAW.
No need to learn programming languages. You only need to be familiar with the Max environment.

What you'll learn

  • Build synthesis blocks and utilize MIDI input in RNBO
  • Define parameters and construct abstractions in RNBO
