SUMMARY:Scramble Everything workshop with Ewa Justka & Roc Jiménez de Cisneros
DESCRIPTION:[shopify embed_type=”product” shop=”musichackspace.myshopify.com” product_handle=”scramble-everything-workshop-with-ewa-justka-evol” show=”button-only”] \nScramble Everything is a synthesizer designed by Ewa Justka\, which uses random sequences to trigger and modulate a small voice synthesis engine. The result is completely scrambled speech – hence the name. Weird stretched out phonemes\, morphing vowels and a cacophony of extremely disfigured human speech\, right at the intersection where imitation\, emulation and simulation point towards otherness and hybridism. Scramble Everything can also be used as an effects unit\, to scramble external signals.  \nThe workshop includes both a practical part\, where users assemble and build the instrument\, as well as a theoretical part (featuring Roc Jiménez de Cisneros/EVOL)\, aimed to shed some light on some of the topics that Scramble Everything touches upon\, mostly the notion of imitation in the context of electronic music. \nAll materials are covered in the cost and all necessary tools will be supplied. \nAlongside the workshop is a party of the same name\, co-curated by Music Hackspace and Ewa Justka\, featuring a live show from herself and Roc Jiménez de Cisneros (EVOL)\, Dale Cornish and Shelley Parker\, as well as a DJ set from Roc Jiménez de Cisneros with lasers from Jason Haebich. Purchasing a place in the workshop includes guestlist for the party that evening. Tickets can also be purchased separately here.  \nWe can offer a 10% concession for students or people who are unemployed or benefit recipients. DESCRIPTION:Tickets for this event are available through Somerset House Studios here.  \n\nEwa Justka & Roc Jiménez de Cisneros\nDale Cornish\nShelley Parker\nRoc Jiménez de Cisneros (DJ Set) + lasers from Jayson Haebich\n\nWe’re pleased to be bringing Ewa Justka\, Roc Jiménez de Cisneros\, Dale Cornish and Shelley Parker to Somerset House’s Lancaster rooms for a night of abstract electronics and club music. Scramble Everything is co-curated by Music Hackspace and Ewa Justka.  \n  \nEwa Justka & Roc Jiménez de Cisneros \nEwa Justka is a polish electronic acid-technoise artist\, self taught instruments builder and electronics teacher based in London. Roc Jiménez de Cisneros is one half of EVOL\, who make mentasmic computer music and deformed techno objects. The two will perform a collaborative live set. This set will contain strobe lighting.  \n  \nDale Cornish  \nBorn\, raised and current of London (south)\, Dale Cornish has released a series of acclaimed albums for Entr’acte\, including Ulex (2015 and Aqal (2017) along with releases for labels including Where To Now?\, The Tapeworm. In addition to this he has done remix work for artists as diverse as Merzbow\, Perc and Billie Ray Martin and collaborations with Powell\, Adam Asnan and Andie Brown in addition to a regular duo with Phil Julian\, memorably/horribly described as “Coil for the Trump age”. Dale will be performing a selection of new material for this show. \n  \nShelley Parker \nShelley Parker has performed live and played DJ sets in the UK and internationally at venues spanning the Whitechapel Gallery\, Turner Contemporary and Tate Britain. Her music productions have been released on various labels including: Houndstooth\, Opal Tapes and her own label Structure. In addition she has created several sound installations including commissions for the V & A and De la Warr Pavilion. \n  \nJayson Haebich \nJayson Haebich is a London based artist who creates diverse and innovative works using light. His work encompasses the use of lasers\, projections and other light based mediums to create mesmerising and immersive works that evoke feelings of other worlds and places. Heavily inspired by his time working in club and festival environments he uses much of the same lighting technology and takes it out of the club and into other locations such as galleries\, cathedrals and outdoor environments. \n  \nhttp://scrambleverything.org/ [CONTAINS FLASHING LIGHTS]
