SUMMARY:CRUX ELECTRONIC AUDIO-VISUAL LIVE PERFORMANCE
DESCRIPTION:Crux Events are coming to the Music Hackspace with an evening of audio and visual performances and workshops. “This is a meeting space to learn\, experiment\, collaborate and be entertained…” \nFREE ENTRY (please give a donation to artist/event costs) \n  \nL I N K J A M \nThe first London Ableton Link Jam will be taking place between 4-6pm. \nThis is open to everyone – just turn up\, sync up and plug in! \nYou can check out what Link is here: \nwww.ableton.com/en/link \n(it’s basically a cool\, easy and reliable way to sync copies of Ableton Live with a bunch of iOS apps!) \nPlease bring your own audio cable to get from your device into the mixer. \nYou will need to join the wi-fi network we will create on the day or bring an ethernet cable to plug directly into the router if you prefer. \nDepending on the number of participants we might have to limit the time each person is playing for. Nick and Marcello will be on hand to get you setup and to conduct the proceedings. \n  \nW O R K S H O P S \nMARCELLO RUGGIU \nMogees is a new way to make music out of any object\, we will have a look at this innovative device that\, when connected to any computer or smartphone\, lets you play any surface as a musical instrument. Marcello Ruggiu will show us how it works and give the chance to try and play this amazing object. \nmogees.co.uk \nADAM JOHN WILLIAMS \nAnother host of this event and Music Hackspace regular Adam will take us through some Max MSP performance techniques and also introduce the macrodactyl performance project that he will be a part of later in the evening. \nadamjohnwilliams.co.uk \nwww.facebook.com/AdamJohnWilliams \nROBIN FENCOTT \nRobin will give a whistle stop tour of his musical projects\, collaborations and research\, which includes academic research\, electronic music\, interactive installations\, heavy metal albums\, custom hardware interfaces\, sound poetry and performance art. \nwww.robinfencott.com \n  \nL I V E S E T S \nMACRODACTYL \nMacrodactyl is a music\, code & art collective which exists as an open platform that anybody can join. Artworks & pieces of music are released via GitHub as open source software and anyone is free to contribute to or utilise these created works. tl;dr – 4 nerds with laptops creating an audiovisual techno performance. \ngithub.com/macrodactyl \nFEDKA THE IRRITANT \nFedka The Irritant is not from Russia but from an equally corrupt place in south-east London called Deptford. In his basement Fedka makes techno and other bass-heavy music at any time of the night or day without bothering his social conscience. The trombone is his weapon of choice\, and for his live sets he hooks it up through multiple effects and and weaves it into the Octatrack to make funky bleepy party techno at full wonk ahead. \nsoundcloud.com/fedkatheirritant \nfacebook.com/pages/Fedka-The-Irritant \nMETALOGUE \nMetalogue is the alias of London based musician / producer / programmer Robin Fencott. His Indefinite Divisibility EP (April 2015) combines cinematic sound design with elements of industrial\, ambient\, and experimental electronic sub-genres. Robin is currently working on a followup EP which is heading in a more IDM and synthesizer driven direction. Robin’s Metalogue performance at Crux will be an opportunity to preview work in progress and perform tracks from the first EP. \nmetalogue.bandcamp.com \nNED RUSH \nNed Rush is a sound\, vision and performance designer and artist. Known largely for his eccentric YouTube channel exploring genre mechanics and sound accidents\, he also develops software for isotonik studios and will perform a fully live meltdown of improvised sound meta events. \nBorrowing ideas from jungle\, hardcore\, avant garde\, drone\, glitch and comedy\, it’s bound to entertain as much as confuse. \nwww.facebook.com/NedRush \nyoutu.be/oMGZMw_DO-0 \n  \nV E E J A Y \nL’AUBAINE \nL’Aubaine (Laurie Bender) is a VJ\, visual artist\, graphic designer from Geneva\, Switerzerland based in London whose VJ sets are improvised compositions made of layers of organic shapes\, figurative elements and an explosion of colours. \nAll elements used are self-produced\, mixing different techniques\, analogue and digital\, such as hand-drawn animations\, pattern design\, drawing\, typography\, photography and videos. \nL’Aubaine will perform at CRUX a VJ set using Modul8\, Madmapper and a video synth. \nlaubaine.net \nfacebook.com/laubainevisuals \ntwitter @vjlaubaine \nvimeo.com/laubaine \nODDSCENE \nwww.oddscene.com \n— \nWWW.CRUX-EVENTS.ORG \nwww.facebook.com/groups/1037659679579014 \nWWW.MUSICHACKSPACE.ORG \nwww.facebook.com/musichackspace \n  \nThe venue: \nMUSIC HACKSPACE\, LimeWharf Yard\, LimeWharf\, Vyner Street\, London E2 9DJ \nThe London Music Hackspace is a place to share thoughts\, knowledge\, technologies\, processes and aesthetics on music and audio. \nDirections: https://citymapper.com/go/zxzkfq \n— \nWe want this event to be open to all and a welcoming space for existing performers and people new to electronic music performance.
