Where is Music Hackspace based?

We’re based at Goldsmiths University,  London, UK, after spending three years at Somerset House (2017-2019).

I’d like to run an event with Music Hackspace, how do I do this?

Please email us.

Are your events accessible?

Almost always our events are fully accessible with step free access and an accessible toilet. Accessibility information should be on each event page. If you have any accessibility questions, please email us.

Do you offer student discount?

Yes, on most of our workshops. Please email and we can give you a code for 10% off. Please then bring student ID to the relevant event to confirm this.

Who is Music Hackspace for?

Anyone with an interest in music and DIY technology. We aim to make our events as accessible as possible, prioritising open source technologies and offering a mix of free and paid for events.

I’ve booked a place on a workshop and haven’t received any details.

We’ll typically be in touch at least 4 or 5 days before the workshop to confirm details, such as anything you might need to bring. Time, date and location details will always be available from the relevant webpage. If you have any questions about any of our workshops, please get in touch.

I’ve booked a place on a workshop and can no longer attend. Can I get a refund?

If you let us know a week or more before the workshop, we can supply a refund. Please email us if this is the case.

I’d like to interact with the community to collaborate or get technical help with a project.

Our Google Group or Facebook Group should be useful for you! Our meetups are also a good opportunity for this where relevant.

Can I become a member?

We don’t currently offer membership, but may do in the future. If you have any ideas for what you’d like to get out of this, please let us know!

Do you have a communal working space?

Not in the conventional hackspace sense, as we don’t have a suitable space, but this may change in the future.

Safe space policy:

We are dedicated to providing an experience free of harassment and discrimination for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity or religion (or lack thereof). Abuse of any kind will not be tolerated and may result in a person being removed from an event. Please speak to Music Hackspace staff if you experience or witness any inappropriate behaviour.

If you have any other questions, please get in touch.
