Car Park Canal Side: places of transit and rest
Music Hackspace/Sound and Music Embedded Composer in Residence Jack James
welcomes fellow sound artist Gawain Hewitt for an evening of discussion and sonic
research into Regents Canal and The Oval.
Gawain Hewitt will introduce his sound work in development for a performance at
the Ice Music Festival in January 2016. Using hydrophones placed into Regents Canal
he will use the sounds of the waterway to create a live audio broadcast into Music
Hackspace, contributing a performance and soundtrack to the evening.
Jack James will share his current research into informal and ad hoc social interactions
happening within and around The Oval. Talking about parking cars and other workday
movements. Throughout the evening, audience members are invited to share their
knowledge of and thoughts about the local area.
